KW Poke Bowls

Salmon Poke Bowl from Taste of Seoul Kitchener. Black bowl filled with purple, orange and green veggies and salmon drizzled in orange sauce.

Poke bowls obsessed

I kid you not, I could eat poke bowls daily (and sometimes do!)

Several restaurants around KW make a decent poke bowl but as good as they can be, they are inconsistent. You know what I’m talking about – sometimes the rice is fresh and other times it was clearly prepared earlier in the day. The same goes for the freshness of the fish.

Taste of Seoul

I first heard about Taste of Seoul from trusted food-loving friends a couple of years ago and had never given it a try. It’s likely because of the location – they’re in an unassuming building just off the corner of Victoria and Park in Kitchener. Blink and you’ll miss it! On top of that, it’s not entirely clear where to park.

Well, I’m happy to report that I checked them out about a year ago and am I ever glad I did!

Favourite KW Poke Bowls

Taste of Seoul’s Poke Bowl Classic with salmon is my favourite in KW. The flavour of the rice is spot on, their fish is some of the freshest you’ll find in the area, and the other toppings complement each other perfectly. It’s one of those dishes that while you eat, you can’t help but think about how delicious it is. And the best part? They’re consistent. I’ve never ordered a poke bowl from Taste of Seoul and been disappointed.

To top it off, when dining in they start your meal with miso soup.

Last week, I decided to enjoy my lunch on their enclosed courtyard patio. I’ve included some photos for those who have never been.
